What is svchost!? Chances are you have asked yourself this question before. If not, open up task manager and take a look. Right click on the taskbar and click on task manger, or if you’re like me and like keyboard shortcuts hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc. This will open up task manager. Click on the processes tab and click on Image Name to sort alphabetically. Then scroll down to the S’s. You will most likely see many instances of svchost.exe. Don’t worry thing is completely nomal. More on what this means after the jump.
svchost.exe is Windows service host. Basically, all the little services that Windows needs to keep running are run inside instances of svchost.exe. Some instances might have one or two services, some instances might have half a dozen. If you want to see what is inside an instance of svchost.exe right click on one in task manager and click go to services. This will take to you the services tab of task manager and highlight the services that are being used. This is the important part. Sometimes a virus will hijack svchost.exe and make it look like its a Windows service when in reality its probably infecting you computer with more garbage. Scan through your services and if you see something suspicious, look it up in google and see if it is something that is malicious. If it is, check out my post on anti-virus and take immediate action. That’s all I have for today see you guys later!

You may want to mention that the above instructions are for Vista. You may also want to show how to do this in XP.
How is the hit count on the web site?
